Cindy Montoya attended UCLA where she was a member of Ballet Folklorico and was captain of the elite UCLA Dance Team. After graduating with a degree in Dance, she moved into a career that has involved a wide variety of performance and choreography. She was one of the original Los Angeles Laker Girls. She has choreographed for The Academy Awards and the Tracey Ullman Show, and worked on film productions including Mel Brooks' "Robin Hood: Men in tights," "American Beauty," and Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America." She has choreographed for tour performances for Paula Abdul, George Michael and Michael Bolton. Cindy has performed for Prince Charles and Lady Di. Her corporate clients have included Pepsi, Taco Bell, Tostitos, and McDonald's.

Cindy has a deep commitment to sharing her knowledge and artistic gifts with others, and has been teaching for nearly as long as she has been dancing. She has taught at the Orange County High School of the Arts and Glendale College, and currently teaches at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena where she has been instrumental in the development and growth of their respected dance program. Her adult education experiences include National Academy of Sports Medicine certification as a personal trainer and certification as a yoga and Stott Pilates instructor. She also worked as consultant, choreographer, and editor of Paula Abdul's best-selling "Cardio Dance" exercise video.

Cindy's successful experiences working with cognitively-challenged children and adolescents have led to an interest in exploring the interaction between movement and neurocognitive development. She is committed to reaching out to students of all abilities, with the goal of encouraging personal growth through the art of dance. Cindy is the founder of Dance Outreach—Inspire and Teach, LA, an organization where middle school, high school, and college-level dance students can share their gifts with others, through teaching dance classes, giving workshops, and supporting nonprofit organizations through dance performance.
